Oded has been creating art for 15 years. In 2023, his dedication to art was recognized with a scholarship given to him. Here is a selection of his works:
2024. Megiddo Regional Council granted a scholarship as an artist for 15 years
2022. After learning the basics of interactions, I wanted to create this artwork to reflect the events of 1948. It depicts the chaotic movement of people and Ben Gurion's declaration of Israel's independence. I also designed a Hebrew font based on the Star of David. This project was completed within just three months of starting to learn the Unity game engine.
2020. The split screen is an underutilized visual tool in Israeli cinema. Moreover, using it to show more than two scenes simultaneously is rarely seen in Israeli media. My approach aims to be both clear and innovative, bringing a fresh, experimental touch to this technique.
2020. I was fascinated by the idea of creating cinema without physical cameras. Limited by budget and outdated equipment, I decided to try something new—creating videos using existing media. I later discovered that this is a fundamental concept in digital art: combining different pieces of media, whether created by yourself or others, to form a new creation. The technology we work with isn't about generating new media, but about reorganizing existing media into innovative creations.
2020. In my early twenties, I discovered a new type of video called Running Bars. For weeks, I watched several each day. Most focused on topics like the sizes of armies or best-selling product data from outside my country. Inspired, I decided to create one about the sizes of cities in Israel. It was a challenging task because the census data is only updated roughly every five years. After some extensive research and about a month of work (while juggling other commitments), I produced a video!
I believe this video offers valuable insights, such as the rise and fall of Haifa. I'd love to create more Running Bars in the future
2018. After regaining my freedom and free time, I decided to explore new creative avenues that I hadn’t been able to before. It was late 2018. When I “took a break” in 2015, I found it challenging to get good footage and ideas. But by 2018, I had my own computer and a hard drive dedicated to art and movies.
I discovered a new trend called “Editing is Everything,” where people re-edit movies into different genres. Inspired, I decided to try it myself. I chose Forrest Gump, a film with plenty of unsettling moments, and reimagined it as a mid-west horror film. I think I did a pretty good job!
2014. For several years, particularly around three years, I didn't have much time to create, so this video became a point of pride for me.
One day, my extended family went to the sea. I tried to capture footage, searching for something profound to convey a message. I noticed my cousin digging a hole while my father watched closely for a moment before walking away. When I got home, I began experimenting with the digital image. I had no formal training in editing techniques like converting to black and white, fast forwarding, or fading. It was pure experimentation with the material. The experience was incredibly enjoyable and felt avant-garde, as I broke away from realism in such a unique way
2012. My parents owned a small packing factory for olive oil. When I was around 15, they asked me to create a short commercial for the business. I aimed to capture the vibe of an efficient, fast-paced industrial operation while still highlighting its roots as a family-run business in our garage. Naturally, not many people saw it...
