This is my first attempt using DaVinci Resolve software. I wanted to make this video for some time. Here we have 5 scenes from different films, with a black box centered in them. Each time the box is getting smaller (3% of the screen, then 5%, 17%, 25%, 40%, 50%, 70%). We naturally get more details on each step.
I want to ask some questions regarding the video:
- How much of the frame do we need to identify a film?
- What helps us identify a film?
- Can we spot any cinematic properties, like camera movement, from a limited part of the frame?
- How small is the space dedicated to emotion in each film?

Some of the films here are very iconic, and could be identified by the colors and textures. Others show how little of the frame is dedicated to emotion or action.
I usually hate to see how vertical platforms like Instagram crop the frame of horizontal films. However, if the margins of the frame are meaningless and we don't even look at them, why should I be so upset with that crop to highlight what each moment is really about?
